Cameron specialises in the most serious fraud, corruption and regulatory cases.
A graduate of St. Peter’s College, Oxford University and City University, he is known for his engaging and strategic approach to clients, detailed case preparation and targeted cross-examination.
He has successfully represented corporations, senior executives and high profile individuals in relation to financial crime, corruption and regulatory investigations. He advises where possible in either avoiding litigation altogether or the most strategic approach to take in preparation for it.
Cameron’s cases frequently involve jurisdictions worldwide – as a member of the New York State Bar, he has experience of US litigation. He also has significant experience of LPP, disclosure and confiscation issues arising in financial crime investigations.
He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2020, following his appearance in a number of leading cases.
In addition to defence instructions, his experience and approach led to a number of notable appointments prior to taking silk, including Standing Counsel to the Insolvency Service and a member of the 'A' Panel for the Serious Fraud Office.
He was re-appointed to the SFO’s QC panel in 2021 and has real insight as to the approach taken by the SFO.
He has acted and continues to act for both the SFO and the FCA in a number of their cases.
He has appeared regularly at the Central Criminal Court and Court of Appeal, including in a number of leading cases relating to confiscation.
As a part-time Tribunal Chair, he has particular insight into the approach taken by Judges and Legally Qualified Chairs and is well placed to advise those subject to regulatory investigations.
